Feed My Starving Children
Every year at Christ Community, we set aside a year-end gift dedicated to changing the world. For our 2012 year-end gift, we are partnering with Feed My Starving Children to pack and pay for more than one million meals for hungry kids.
Every five seconds, a child dies from a hunger-related cause. That’s 18,000 kids a day. Feed My Starving Children is committed to doing something about those staggering numbers and along with support from people like you, they have packed over 400 million meals to feed starving kids in 67 countries around the world.
In November, we packed the meals with a goal to feed 2,740 kids for one year. Our amazing 4,500 volunteers surpassed that goal. They packed enough meals for almost 2,900 children to eat for a year. And now, we need to raise the funds to pay for them.
So how do you help? In order to meet our goal of feeding 2,899 Nicaraguan kids for one year, we need to raise approximately $250,000. (Gifts in excess of $250,000 will be applied to projects as determined by Christ Community Church.) We know this will require sacrificial gifts from each of us, and we encourage you to prayerfully consider how much God is leading you to give.
$42 feeds one child for six months.
$84 feeds one child for a year.
$420 feeds five children for a year.
$840 feeds ten children for a year.
$5,040 feeds sixty children for one year.
Our goal is $250,000. Funds raised beyond $250,000 will be applied to projects as determined by Christ Community Church.
