Camp Commotion FAQs
What is Camp Commotion?
Camp Commotion is a fun, exciting, safe place in St. Charles for kids (entering 1st through 6th grade) to spend their summer. Whether you need a full-time summer care option for your kids, or you just want your kids to have one or two incredible experiences, Camp Commotion is the place to be!
What are the hours of operation and dates for Camp Commotion?
Camp Commotion runs daily from June 1st, 2021 to August 6th, 2021, with the exception of Monday, July 5th. The regular camp day is 9AM-4PM, and extended care options are available before (7-9AM) and after (4-6PM) camp.
Will my child get to pick which activities they do at camp?
For the 2021 season, we're slightly altering how we schedule activities for our campers to maximize our space available.
On a typical year, your child will sign up for one activity choice ('crew') per week. For this year, your child will instead only need to sign up for the week(s) of camp they will participate in.
Every week, our top-notch staff will be putting together a range of our most popular activities that all campers will get to enjoy. We'll of course still have our popular Water Day, swimming at the pond, all-camp games, and more!
Do you talk about God and the Bible at camp?
Absolutely! We are affiliated with Christ Community Church and are presented by KidsWorld, our children's ministry. If you want to know more about what we believe, click here.
We include large group teaching that is focused on character building, offer energetic music and dance, and meet daily in small groups to encourage good relationship building with peers and mentors.
Can I arrange a tour of Camp Commotion?
In the off-season (Sep-Apr), you can see available tour times here
During the camp season (May-Aug), we typically schedule tours Tuesday-Friday between the hours of 10-11:30AM. Tours take around 20 minutes, and you'll get to see a snapshot of a day at Camp Commotion and ask any questions you might have.
If you'd like to schedule a tour during camp, please call us on 630.733.8929 or e-mail us.
Can I make a change to my registration?
Requests for changes must be communicated by end of day one week before your camp week begins, and most requests are subject to availability. We cannot accommodate changes at check-in.
We can transfer registrations to an alternate week as long as space is available. These requests can be made by calling us at 630.733.8929 or by e-mail.
What if my child is on a waitlist?
If registration for a specific week is full, then campers will be put on a waitlist. If space opens up, we will contact you about taking the spot. If your camper is on a waitlist, you will be notified the week prior to the camp week you are waitlisted for as to whether or not we have space. If you are unsure whether you are registered or not, or have questions about waitlists, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
Please click here for our full policy on waitlists.
Is walk-in registration available?
Due to current restrictions, we will not be able to accommodate any walk-in registrations. All campers must be pre-registered.
Can my child attend with a friend or group of friends?
We love to have friends attend camp together, and will do all we can to accommodate.
When you register, you'll notice that you will need to pick a color team for your camper. This color team has no bearing on your camper's activities but does allow you to sign up for the same team with a friend or friends and be grouped together.
Space is especially limited this year so, although we will try our best, we cannot guarantee friend accommodations. But, trust us, there's lotsof great new friends to meet at Camp Commotion!
What if I need to cancel my registration?
Cancellations should be made by phone or e-mail. We offer a refund for camp registration, less our cancellation fee, as long as the cancellation is made a minimum of 7 days before the start of the week being cancelled.
Cancellations made less than 7 days from the start of the week being cancelled are not eligible for a refund.
What is the cancellation fee?
We issue a flat fee of $20 every time we process a cancellation for you. This reflects the administrative time as well as the potential loss of a spot at camp that we incur with cancellations.
Our desire is to ensure we make camp as accessible as possible for all participants. If you have concerns about any fee you are assessed, please contact us.
What payment options are available for camp?
When you register, you will make an initial deposit of 25% of the total cost of the main camp session(s) for which you are registering. The remaining balance (including t-shirt or extended care purchases) can be paid in full at the time of registration, or split into up to 6 additional payments, depending on date registered.
If you would like to discuss alternate payments plans, please contact us at 630.733.8929.
Currently, we can accept VISA or Mastercard for payment.
DAY TO DAY AT CAMP
What does a typical day at Camp Commotion look like?
Each day at Camp Commotion looks a little different, but you can bet each day will be packed with fun, exciting activities that kids will love. Click here for a sample schedule.
What does my child need to bring each day to camp?
Campers should bring a packed lunch, water bottle & sunscreen every day. Campers can refill their water bottles at camp, but please note there is no refrigerator available, so please pack accordingly.
On Wednesdays, we hold our popular Water Day, so campers should bring a towel and a swimsuit in order to participate, as well as on their scheduled swimming day at the pond.
What should I do if I have to pick up my camper early?
Please schedule your early pick-up by using one of our early pick-up forms (available in the drop-off line each morning) or by calling/e-mailing us. Campers travel extensively around our campus, so early notification of a change in pick-up time is important to help keep our schedule running smoothly.
PLEASE NOTE: For safety purposes, we do not allow early pick after 3:15 PM.
Will my camper be leaving the campus for any off-site activities?
We do not leave the campus for special field trips or visits to local pools, as is often typical in day camps. Instead, we bring the fun to camp! Some groups will spend time off-site at the local Primrose Park.
Who are the staff at Camp Commotion?
Led by a full-time pastor, the majority of our staff are high-school and college-age students and all have undergone an extensive review process, including background checks. Additionally, our staff undergoes in-depth training as a requirement for their position. Most of all, they love working with kids! To learn more about our staff, click here.
