CANNING HUNGER - SEPTEMBER 2023
Join us as we collect food and hygiene items to help people in our communities and neighborhoods. This is an opportunity for you to get to know your neighbors and provide much-needed resources to people in your community.
Last year between the five campuses, we collected 4,366 pounds of food! That translates to roughly 5,239 meals! This year, we’re adding hygiene items to the list.
Starting September 2 & 3, you can pick up a set of bags at your campus (check with your campus pastor to see if your campus is participating). Don’t worry - we know it can be a little unnerving to ask neighbors for help so the set includes instructions for you and your neighbors to help break the ice. Take the bags to your neighbors and ask them to fill the bags with unopened, unexpired nonperishable food items and unused unexpired hygiene items. When you collect the bags, use that time to get to know your neighbors. Find out what’s going on in their lives and take mental notes so you can follow up with them.
