NEXT BAPTISM CELEBRATION JUNE 21

Baptism is a celebration. It is an opportunity to follow Jesus’ example and teaching by publicly proclaiming our identification with him. By being baptized, we announce that Jesus has washed away our sin and has given us new life. We will celebrate baptism during weekend services on June 20 and 21.

Prior to baptism, participants must attend a one-hour class (Sunday, June 14, 11:30am), designed to share the biblical purpose of baptism, to help you discern if baptism is the right step for you.

YOU ARE NOT ALONE

This Spring, Care Night has launched a new session of groups, and we want you to know: you don’t have to walk through life’s challenges alone. We’ve created safe, confidential spaces where spiritual truth and practical support come together. We’re offering groups for Addiction Recovery and Support and Grief Support. Each group is designed to help you take a meaningful step toward freedom, wholeness, and a deeper connection with Jesus and others. We encourage you to register today and step into what God may want to do in your life this season!

BECOME A MEMBER

Membership is a way of saying “I’m all in! This church is my church.”

Christ Community offers a collection of videos and reading assignments that equips people to thrive as followers of Jesus in this local congregation. Taking this course is how people become official members here at Christ Community.

This online membership class is on-demand and can be started at any time. You can start, stop, and pick back up where you left off at your convenience. You’ll get to ask questions along the way and you’ll connect with a pastor for a one-on-one conversation at the end of the course.

NEW TO BIBLE READING?

Have you tried to read the Bible, but got confused or bored, so you stopped? Maybe you’re curious about the Bible, but you’re too intimidated to open it up. Maybe you’ve been to church, and they started talking about Moses or 2 Kings or the epistles, and you had no idea what they were talking about, but you were too embarrassed to ask someone about it.

Getting Started with the Bible is for you. This course begins from the basics, explaining what the Bible is, where it came from, how it’s organized, and what it contains. By the end, you'll also learn a simple approach to reading any passage of Scripture and discovering practical truths you can apply to your life. No prior knowledge of the Bible is necessary.

This online course is available on YouTube and suitable for individual study at your own pace or in a group setting.

NEXT GATHERING MAY 31

Where have you been hoping for a breakthrough? Health issue, wayward child, stubborn addiction, struggling marriage?

BreakTHRU prayer gatherings are all-campus events at the St. Charles/South Elgin Campus on the last Sunday evening (6-8pm) of each month. These BreakTHRU prayer gatherings are unlike anything we’ve ever planned here at Christ Community. The time is divided into four 30-minute segments. The first and last half-hour are optional. The auditorium will be open for personal prayer and worship. Sit, kneel, or pace the rows on your own as you pray. The pastors and elders of our six campuses will also be available to pray FOR you. But the middle hour–6:30-7:30–is the core of the evening. There will be a 30-minute training on a specific breakthrough topic, followed by 30 minutes of focused, small-group prayer on that topic. No registration required!

Some of the topics we'll be covering over coming months include: How to pray for our children, how to pray for healing, why prayers go unanswered, what to pray for our country/government, and how to combat evil forces as we pray.

TWO-YEAR CAMPAIGN

Christ Community Church has launched a two-year campaign to adopt and revitalize two struggling churches in communities that need healthy, gospel-proclaiming, churches like Christ Community.

Whether you’re brand new or have been giving to Christ Community for a long time, you’re invited to prayerfully consider taking a bold step forward. You can still make your commitment.

WORKPLACE PRAYER GUIDES

On any given day at work, we might experience a number of challenging situations — whether that's dealing with a difficult boss, getting overlooked for a promotion, or experiencing a sense of purposelessness in our work. That's why we've developed audio prayer guides that address a variety of situations, so that they can help you pray through the specific situation you're facing.
