DeKalb Community Impact

Serve the International Students of our community by providing a meal or serving at the Intercultural Cafe, sponsored by Network of Nations. Dinner is served at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 511 Russel Rd., DeKalb, IL. Drop food off at 5:45pm. There is a brief meeting with Network of Nations for those who will be serving, followed by dinner at 6:30 pm. | SERVE

To provide shelter, housing, and meals to DeKalb County’s homeless, to advocate for the homeless, and to assist them in moving into stable housing and achieving self-sufficiency. | SERVE

The goal of The Ruth Project follow God’s charge in James 1:27 by sharing the hope and love of Jesus with the modern-day orphan, the child in the foster care system. We do this by meeting practical, relational, emotional, and spiritual needs of vulnerable children in community partnership with foster families, individuals, churches, community organizations, and businesses. Families foster longer and accept more placements when they are strengthened and supported!

Serve with Administer Justice by helping provide accessible, affordable legal care for neighbors who feel stuck or overwhelmed. Volunteers

Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit housing organization working in local communities across all 50 states and in more than 70 countries around the world.

Disaster Relief through Samaritan’s Purse gives us a way to show up when communities are hit hard. We deploy to support cleanup and recovery, serve homeowners with compassion, and provide practical help in Jesus’ name. Serve with the Good Neighbor Kitchen. Multiple ways to get involved: drivers, commissary kitchen team, truck team, maintenance, street, and prayer team. | When: As Needed| Location Varies | Ages: 16+ | SERVE

Kids Hope USA mentors build a consistent, caring relationship with a student by meeting one-on-one at a local school for about an hour each week. You show up to listen, encourage, play, read, and help a child feel seen and valued. Training and support are provided. If you can be reliable and present, you can make a lasting impact. | When: Once a week during the school year | Where: St. Charles/Streamwood/Dekalb Campuses | Ages: 18+ | SERVE

Since 1966, Athletes in Action have been helping athletes experience the hope and purpose that comes from following Jesus, and equipping them to use their platform to be part of God’s mission in the world to make disciples of all nations.

Neighbors’ House is an organization made up of staff, volunteers, and donors who desire to make an impact in the lives of local students. Our goal is to help students shine to their brightest potential.
