Dinner In A Hostile World: Do You Really Know Jesus?

February 15, 2015

Jim Nicodem

Many of us claim to know the most important person of all time…Jesus Christ.

But do we really know him? Do we really know Jesus? I’m not just posing this question to those of you who are still exploring the Christian faith, but have not yet surrendered your lives to Christ. I’m also posing the question to those of us who say we are Christ followers. Do we really know this Jesus we claim to follow? Do we?

In John 14:9, Jesus says to one of his disciples—a guy who had been part of Jesus’ inner circle for three years, living and traveling together—Don’t you know me, Philip, even after I have been among you such a long time? Don’t you know me?

Evidently, it’s possible to kind of know Jesus—and yet not really know him.

Today we’re going to take a close look at who Jesus is. If you’re a skeptic or an unbeliever—I don’t want you rejecting Jesus until you know who it is that you’re rejecting. If you’re a new Christ follower—I want you to understand who it is that you’ve just begun a relationship with. And if you’re a committed believer—I want you be amazed at the One who is your Savior and King.

Turn to John 14.
