I Have My Doubts: The Struggle To Believe

I Have My Doubts: The Resurrection of God's Son (Easter 2015)

Welcome to Easter weekend. We’re here to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

But at CCC—we’re also launching a 5-part sermon-series. It’s called: I Have My Doubts. For the next five weeks—beginning today—we’re going to take a look at 5 HUGE doubts that people have about God.

Let me tell you what sparked this series. This past year I came across a new survey that was taken at 1K large churches across the country. The survey discovered—not surprisingly—that at every large church there are a significant number of people who are not committed believers. The survey called these people explorers—they are exploring the Christian faith, but they are not yet dedicated Christ followers.

And one of the biggest obstacles—according to this survey—that is keeping explorers from becoming Christ followers…is doubts. How can I know God even exists? Why would a good God allow human suffering? What evidence is there for the resurrection of Jesus Christ?

So we decided to do this series—I Have My Doubts.

But our series is not just for explorers. This series is also for Christ followers—because even convinced believers sometimes wrestle with doubts. Now, unfortunately—many believers are embarrassed by their doubts, so they wrestle with them quietly, instead of voicing them openly… and looking for answers.

The good news of this series is—there are answers. You don’t have to leave your brain at the door—in order to become a Christ follower. Christianity does not (LISTEN) demand a blind leap of faith—it calls for a reasonable faith.
